ARBURG Exhibited a Vast Set of Solutions at NPE 2018

At NPE 2018, Arburg presented a vast selection of modular products with nine exhibits and several applications, such as turnkey solutions for fully automated production, the Freeformer industrial additive manufacturing and Industry 4.0 solutions.

Among several injection molding machines showcased at NPE 2018, we highlight the Allrounder 1120 H, which was presented in America for the very first time. This new large machine of 730 US-tons (6500 kN), has a brand new design and features the new Gestica control system.

The hybrid Allrounder 1120 H combines the speed and precision of an electric toggle-type clamping unit during mold movements with hydraulic power and dynamics during injection.

The innovative Gestica control system has the same look and feel as smart mobile devices. Its operation is even more intuitive and efficient thanks to the operating gestures. With the "Easyslider" operating element, movements can be controlled with ease and precision during setup and are displayed via variable-color LEDs. Acceleration and deceleration can be controlled "with a swipe of the finger" along a bar at the edge of the screen. Further highlights include the 16:9, high-resolution, full-HD screen and industrial multi-touch technology.

Visitors to the exhibition booth had the opportunity to see how the combination of injection molding, additive manufacturing and Industry 4.0 technologies can be used to cost-effectively individualize high-volume parts in single-unit batches. In addition, visitors were able to find out more about the Arburg host computer system (ALS), the new Arburg Remote Service (ARS) and six new assistance packages for starting, setting up, optimizing, producing, monitoring and servicing Allrounder injection molding machines.
